Mental Health Counsellor

Sophia is currently pursuing her Master of Psychology at Adler Graduate Professional School of Psychology. She has over five years of experience in community-based interventions advocating for mental health accessibility. Sophia integrates philosophical concepts, particularly existentialism, into her therapeutic approach, offering clients a unique perspective on exploring meaning, identity, freedom, and purpose.
As a mental health counselor, Sophia has experience working with individual clients using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy techniques. She is skilled in addressing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues. Sophia is particularly passionate about helping individuals navigate life transitions and existential concerns, blending evidence-based practices with philosophical reflection.
Sophia’s therapeutic approach is grounded in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. She is dedicated to working collaboratively with clients, helping them explore their concerns while empowering them to develop new skills and strategies for growth and healing.
After completing her undergraduate degree in psychology, Sophia worked closely with youth with intellectual disabilities, supporting them as they navigated the challenges of transitioning into adulthood. Sophia has held educator roles within high schools across the GTA assisting individuals and families in accessing mental health resources for navigating disabilities.
Sophia offers services under the close supervision of Dr. Nelson Byrne, Clinical Director at Connect Cognitive Therapy.
