Stefanie Gobin, MPsy
As a Registered Psychotherapist, Stefanie helps adult clients improve coping with common challenges such as anxiety, stress, depression, and self-esteem. She also has considerable experience with chronic pain and disability, and helping people recover from emotional distress related to workplace incidents. She is trained and experienced in a range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, acceptance and commitment therapy, and others. Her approach can also be described as person-centred and solution-focused.
While trained in evidence-based treatment approaches for most psychological conditions, her focus is also on exploring clients’ strengths and taking a positive psychology approach to give balance to the therapeutic process. She prefers to tailor her approach to each person’s needs, drawing on tools from a range of therapies.
Stefanie understands that starting therapy can be a difficult step sometimes. She considers it a privilege when clients place their trust in her when seeking help for mental health concerns. She strives to create a positive, welcoming, and non-judgmental atmosphere so clients can feel at ease sharing their personal experiences and receiving the help they deserve.
As Stefanie works toward achieving a higher level of credentialing as a Psychological Associate, her work is supervised by Dr. Nelson Byrne, Registered Psychologist, Clinical Director at Connect Cognitive Therapy.
